Already Surpassed Our 2025 Reach
Less than six months into 2026, AFAS has already surpassed the total number of Airmen, Guardians, and their families we supported during all of 2025—exceeding the 12,600 individuals we assisted last year.
This milestone reflects the growing need across our military community and the incredible generosity of our donors, partners, and supporters. Thank you for helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who serve our nation!
New AFAS Commercial Airing on AFN
We’re excited to share that our new 30-second commercial is now airing on the American Forces Network (AFN), helping more families learn about the support available to Airmen, Guardians, and their families.
Our Airmen and Guardians are ready for anything, anywhere in the world. We’re proud to stand beside them through life’s most challenging moments, helping strengthen the families behind the mission.

2025 Annual Report Now Available
Our 2025 Annual Report is now available, highlighting another year of growth, innovation, and impact in support of Airmen, Guardians, and their families.

Welcome our New Board President
During AFAS’s annual Board of Trustees meeting on June 25, Lt. Gen. (Ret.) John Dolan officially became President of the AFAS Board of Trustees.
A career Air Force fighter pilot and current Vice President at Lockheed Martin Government Affairs, he brings decades of military and leadership experience as we continue strengthening support for Airmen, Guardians, and their families.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Jim Reagan for six years of outstanding leadership as Board President. Under his guidance, AFAS expanded critical programs, strengthened partnerships, and positioned the organization for continued growth. We are grateful he will continue serving on our Board.
Thank you, John and Jim, for your continued commitment to supporting our mission.
Did You Know – Support for Special Needs Family Members
Caring for a family member with special needs can bring additional financial challenges and expenses. Equipment, therapies, and other specialized needs can create unexpected financial burdens for military families.
Through our Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), eligible Air Force and Space Force families can receive up to $3,000 per special needs family member over a two-year period to help offset qualifying expenses and support the family’s unique needs.

Road Ready – Support for Spouses During Deployments
Deployments bring unique challenges for military families, and vehicle maintenance shouldn’t become an added source of stress.
Through our Road Ready program, spouses of currently deployed Active Duty Airmen and Guardians, and spouses of eligible Guard and Reserve members serving on Title 10 or Title 32 orders, may receive a $200 grant per deployment to help cover routine vehicle maintenance while their loved one is away. Maintenance services include oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignments, battery replacement, and windshield wiper replacement.
Learn more about Road Ready and eligibility here.
Did You Know – Cranial Helmet Assistance
Cranial helmets can be essential for an infant’s healthy development, but are not typically covered by TRICARE and can cost military families thousands of dollars out of pocket.
If your infant has been prescribed a cranial helmet, AFAS can provide financial assistance to help eligible Air Force and Space Force families cover the cost of purchasing one.

Supporting Organization Spotlight – BAE Systems
This month, we recognize BAE Systems for their longtime support of AFAS through the annual Air and Space Forces Charity Gala.
Together, we share a commitment to supporting the people behind the mission. While BAE Systems advances the capabilities that support our nation’s defense, AFAS helps ensure Airmen, Guardians, and their families have the resources and support they need to remain mission ready.
We are grateful for their continued investment in supporting our military community.
Make a Lasting Impact Every Month
Military families don’t get to choose when life becomes difficult. Every month, Airmen, Guardians, and their families turn to AFAS during life’s unexpected challenges. Becoming a monthly donor is one of the most meaningful ways to help ensure we’re always ready to respond.
Whether facing an unexpected emergency, recovering from a natural disaster, or navigating financial hardship, your ongoing support provides hope when it matters most.
Even a small monthly gift can make a lasting difference for our military families.
