Thatcher and His Family Say Thank You for Your Support!
In November, we shared the story of how AFAS was able to provide emergency financial assistance so that baby Thatcher and his family could get the cranial helment he needed. The response was tremendous.
Thatcher quickly became our “most liked” social media post, and many were inspired to make a donation to AFAS ensuring even more families will receive help!
Thatcher’s mom, SrA Kayleigh Long, tells us:
“My family and I are filled with gratitude when we hear that so many people have chosen to donate to the AFAS because of Thatcher’s story. We know that with everyone’s donations other families will be blessed with the same help we received when we were in need.”

Air Force Aid Society’s Impact in 2023
This past October we invited you to give us your feedback through our Financial Assistance Survey, and many of you participated!
The majority of our survey respondents ranked Emergency Assistance as the most important category of assistance for Airmen, Guardians, and their families, so we wanted to give you an update on this topic as we approach the end of the year.
As of November 30th, the Air Force Aid Society has funded 7,043 Emergency Financial Assistance requests from Airmen and Guardians, for a total of $7,097,094.
None of this would be possible without your generous support. On behalf of the Air and Space Force families we serve, thank you!
